About The Syndicate Coffee Team

The Syndicate Coffee Team recognizes that the biggest game we all play is the game of LIFE!  We also realize that the most important business here on earth is our FAMILY!  We believe in transformation.  It starts first with ourselves, then others, and finally with our communities, both locally and globally.

And we have a game plan!  We use fresh-roasted organic specialty coffee (our football!) to advance awareness of the many social, economic, environmental and health issues that affect our families.  Strategically, we are the “special team” that supports our larger team (our foundations and farmers) who have the same goal.

We make a living by what we get.  We make a life by what we give. – Winston Churchill

DID YOU KNOW THAT KINDNESS DECREASES PAIN? – Engaging in acts of kindness produces endorphins – the brain’s natural painkiller! – Lizette Borreli, Medical Daily

The Syndicate Coffee Team recognizes that we don’t grow, import or roast coffee.  We are the TEAM that connects the passion of our freshly roasted specialty organic coffee with non-profit foundations to raise funds and bring awareness to the issues we are concerned about. We see and experience issues on a daily basis that affect not just ourselves, but our families, friends, animals and every community on our planet, and connecting with foundations doing something about these problems is a way that we can help.

Another crucial part of our mission is to support our farmers, their families and their communities.  Just think about the supply chain that brings us every cup of coffee we sip; the exporters, importers, roasters, coffee shops, and stores.  But there is one part of the chain that we neglect-the foundational link that perhaps faces the most challenges — the farmers.  We want to give credit where credit is due and support our farmers, so they can provide for their families and have a positive impact on their communities.

By means of being MINDFUL and displaying KINDNESS, we want to make positive changes in our communities globally.

Kind people are the best kind of people. – Unknown

DID YOU KNOW THAT KINDNESS DECREASES STRESS? – Perpetually kind people have 23% less cortisol (the stress hormone) and age slower than the average population! Integrative Psychological and Behavioral Science, 1998

The Syndicate Coffee Team is committed to improving the health and well-being of people, animals, and the planet.  We team with foundations that have an offensive game plan  that work to combat issues such as domestic violence, childhood and adult diseases, homelessness, hunger,  animal rescue, youth literacy and education, and environmental concerns.

By connecting one, hundreds, thousands, millions of Team Players like you, The Syndicate Coffee Team is creating an online community with real power to make a POSITIVE difference in our communities worldwide.  We do this by means of our freshly roasted organic specialty coffee. Through our on-line coffee subscriptions we give 100% of our profits back to the foundations and farmers that are teaming with us to make positive changes.

We do have one major rule of engagement that we would like to ask you to join with us in promoting:  BE KIND!  Each month, when you receive your coffee, consider filling a Ziploc bag with some of it and sharing it with your neighbor, workmate or a stranger.  Everyone we see each day is facing issues we know nothing about.  Attire for today:  KINDNESS!!!

“When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world.” – Harold Kushner

DID YOU KNOW THAT KINDNESS INCREASES YOUR LIFESPAN? – “People who volunteer tend to experience fewer aches and pains. Giving help to others protects overall health twice as much as aspirin protects against heart disease. People 55 and older who volunteer for two or more organizations have an impressive 44% lower likelihood of dying early, and that’s after sifting out every other contributing factor, including physical health, exercise, gender, habits like smoking, marital status and many more. This is a stronger effect than exercising four times a week or going to church.” Christine Carter, Author, “Raising Happiness; In Pursuit of Joyful Kids and Happier Parents”

Who We Are

I was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey with 4 brothers and 5 sisters.  I grew up in the 1960’s – 70’s, a time when there were some serious racial tensions. The area where I lived and attended school was predominantly African-Americans and Puerto Rican.  My mother was my biggest influencer and gave me a rock-solid foundation.  She taught me from a young age that there are different shades of people and that you should always treat others with respect no matter what shade.  She also instilled (Get it? Still) in me the value of being responsible and accountable for the choices I make and and encouraged me to always be KIND!  To this day I can still hear my mother saying, “Actions speak louder than words!  When you see something wrong and do nothing about it, you’re just as wrong as the one doing it!”

Besides my mother, I had many other influencers in my life.  Steve Koche, my 5th-grade teacher and one of my best friends today, also had a great impact on my life.  Steve was from the suburbs and saw something in me when I was his student.  He would pick me up in his Triumph TR6 and take me to play basketball with some of his lighter shade friends.  They all played at a college level and they gave me encouragement and tips to improve my game.  I’ve been friends with Steve for over 50 years and he is my “brother from another mother”.  He instilled (Get it? Still) in me the value of looking at the good in people and being KIND!  Steve is just one of many people who has impacted my life in a positive way.

My wife and I have been married for 37 years.  We have 11 kids and 21 grandkids.  My life has led me down many different paths and now I am living out my passion.  Most people who know me well, know how passionate I am about living a healthy lifestyle. Life is about choices and I am truly happiest when I can give my time to help others.

I have had many influencers and now it’s my time to show that Actions Speak Louder Than Words!
